Wall Painting Robot Mechanism
My team and I designed a 4-link PRRP robot mechanism for wall painting. The motivation for our design comes from wanting to create an at-home use robot for wall painting and alleviate the amount of time, labor, and stress that often comes with painting at home.
The Design
Our robot mechanism is a 4-link, Prismatic-Revolute-Revolute-Prismatic configuration. The first prismatic joint is a track that runs parallel to the the base a the wall to be painted. The next three links and joints allow the robot to move in an up and down vertically to complete the painting motion.
